  • While there are a lot of companies offering fencing solutions, we have 10+ years of experience - specifically in fencing. We are knowledgeable on the key points of what it takes to make a fence last, especially in Alaskan conditions. We hear a lot of stories and have seen so many fences that are knocked down shortly after being built, and it is extremely frustrating, but even more so for YOU. We never want our customers to feel like they have made a bad investment after choosing Holdfast, and it is important to us that our product lasts for you.

  • Every project is different. Pricing depends on: fence length & height, material choice, ground conditions, and gate needs. We provide free on-site estimates, so you know exactly what to expect.

  • Yes! We will work directly with your insurance if they are offering to cover a fence build claim.

  • We set our fence posts 3-4 ft. deep for typical residential projects. This allows ample height for our ever adjusting ground here in Alaska. That being said, we do know how much the land fluctuates, so if you experience post heaving, we are happy to address that with you.

  • Yes, we do! All of our gates are built in-house, by our own fabricator, so each gate is built specifically to fit your needs. This gives more flexibility on styles and sizes, so if you have an specific gate desires - let us know, and we will let you know what we can do for you.

  • We offer a 3-year workmanship warranty on all new residential installations, and a 5-year workmanship warranty on all new commercial installations.

Like all wood products, natural movement and weathering is to be expected over time, but any issues related to the following - we will make right.

    Our workmanship warranty covers:

    • Posts leaning, shifting, or heaving

    • Gate sagging or misalignment

    • Latch hinge failure

    • Fitment issues over time

    • Major defects (broken or split boards)

    • Manufacturer warranties passed through on materials

    What is NOT covered:

    • Extreme weather events

    • Fallen trees

    • Vehicle impact

    • Lack of maintenance/care (i.e. leaving gates unlatched)

    • Customer alterations (i.e. hanging/leaning items on fence)

  • Depending on how much summer sunshine we get, it is recommended to wait one summer before staining a new cedar fence. For stain to properly take, moisture content of the cedar pickets needs to be less than 15%. Western Red Cedar is a rough milled product, so new pickets have a high moisture content when first installed.

  • In many cases, permits are not required for standard residential fencing - unless within city limits. It’s always important to confirm property lines and local requirements. We can help guide you through that process, if needed.
